Laura Rose Sanford
Charmingly Odd Experience Artist
I’m an interdisciplinary artist exploring the boundaries of experiential space and immersive performance.
There exists a transcendent kind of beauty in strangeness and an immense power in wonder— and I’m dedicated to bringing more of this into the world.
A current studio artist at Root Division, much of the art I make explores the metaphysical, the absurd, and the often awkward relationship between mind and body. I create tactile, charmingly odd installations that play with human perception. In the past, I’ve designed narrative-driven installations and events— such as this one about decomposing underground. I’ve also organized a garden party for hungry gnomes and developed an unsettling version of Tinder. I can often be found making odd calendars, drawing creatures, writing music, and singing opera recreationally.
